Revisiting Battlefield 3

Video games are an important part of my life and there has never been a fixed one "Greatest of All Times" game for me. It is always a handful of favourite games that are on that GOAT list and the list is very dynamic in nature.

Multiplayer games, however, are rarely on this list. I didn't have a a lot of fixed favourite multiplayer games besides Counter Strike Source purely for nostalgia purposes but a franchise that always stood with me was Battlefield. My first interaction with this franchise can be dated back to 2018. My first battlefield game was Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Until this point I only used to watch Youtube videos of Battlefield games because I didn't know how to download them nor had a PC capable enough to run them.

Bad Company 2 was amazing. Back during that time I used to play games the non legit way so I had no access to multiplayer. Bad Company 2's campaign felt pretty hard for me and I barely made it past 5-6 levels. But then I somehow got access to the multiplayer with some community mods and boy those were some amazing days.

Then there was this gem called Battlefield 3. I played Battlefield 3 on a very old 4GB RAM i3 PC that was handed down from the family business. I found out this client called ZloeEMU that gave me access to the multiplayer and boy it was amazing. Those Noshahr Canals and Operation Metro Matches were intense. I also ended up playing the campaign and I found it to be amazing but something happened and I lost access to the game.

It wasn't until 2021 again until I played Battlefield 3 again, this time on my old Xbox One S. It was a backwards compatible Xbox 360 copy that I got from having the Xbox Game Pass. I played the campaign once again for the second time, I shortly ended up selling the Xbox later. And again I got Battlefield 3 on PC somewhere around the same time in 2021 via EA Play via PC Game Pass and that was the third time playing the campaign. I never played a single player more than one time but Battlefield 3 was the exception.

And again, almost 5 years later, I noticed Battlefield 3 going on sale and I knew what to do. It just costed me 124 INR so I hit the purchase button. The game's incredibly active now because of the sale. I could feel the nostalgia kicking in when I joined a multiplayer match on Noshahr Canals. For some reason I'm almost the top fragger in most matches in BF3 but I always used to be in the bottom when it came to BF4 or any other battlefield.

I only bought the game a week ago and I already clocked in 11 hours. Me and my mutual friend ended up playing BF3 and we enjoy it a lot. A lot of players were recalling their memories in the chat and said they miss those days. Below are some screenshots.
